It may seem strange that we’ve been blogging forsome times now but have never shared a single plain chocolate chip cookie recipe with you. The truth is that we’ve been baking chocolate chip cookies since the fifth grade, and have yet to come across a recipe that’s markedly better than the back-of-the-bag Nestlé Toll House version that everyone knows and loves.

It’s not for lack of trying — we’ve rested the dough overnight to develop flavor, browned the butter, experimented with different varieties of flour, and so on. But to us, the difference in taste never justifies the extra time or effort. That said, the Toll House recipe isn’t perfect (sorry Toll House!). If you follow the recipe as is, the cookies often come out disappointingly flat.

    These cookies are the bomb! I added crasins and white chocolate chips. Instead of white sugar I used 1/2 cup of Stevia. The cookies stayed together nicely. My husband likes these better than regular oatmeal cookies. I will absolutely purchase again.

    Best damn GF cookie, dare I say, COOKIE I have ever eaten. I have to stop buying it because I can literally eat about 8 of them in one go and then an immediate confusing wave of happy and sad rushes over me because I just realized I consumed 8 adult sized cookies. They are moist and chewy and the best tasting cookie I have ever had and I am not even a big chocolate chip fan, I prefer sugar cookies. NOMS!!! I WANT THEM NOW.
